Smudging a tool in Adobe Photoshop I long thought useless, but since quite some times now photoshop gurus have used this tool for highly artistic achievements like changing a photo into a painting. here are a few examples of how its done. This particular Bare is designed by south African based Baba Mkhulu, the 40cm high custom hand painted Bare was created as part of the Am I Collective’s “bare project.”
The ‘bare’ is based on the African occult and depicts a Sangoma (Witch doctor). It also serves as a social awareness commentary, by addressing the current issue faced by the albino people in Tanzania, who are being murdered in ritual killings, for their body parts to be used in mystical potions.

As one of the world’s most sought-after artists, Wiley’s work stands apart – depicting contemporary African American men in poses taken from the annals of art history, while incorporating a distinctive use of elaborate, graphic and colorful wallpaper-like backgrounds. This vibrant new line is inspired by his work, The World Stage: Africa Lagos-Dakar, and features West African textile prints. Kehinde has also been commissioned by PUMA to create four original portraits, featuring three of Africa’s most decorated football players.
